​​This book is the story of the Lauretano family. This book will introduce you to the origin and meaning of the Lauretano surname, and will mention some of the family's noble ancestors from the fourteenth through the seventeenth centuries who are responsible for the family crest.  

This book will then introduce you to the father of the Lauretano family, Angelo Lauretano, and his descendants, and work its way through the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and a small portion of the twentieth century. To give you a better feel for how the early  Lauretano family lived, this book will tell the story within a historical and cultural context beginning in the 1730s. The story moves from ancestor to ancestor discussing their births, baptisms, work, marriages, deaths, and places their lives and experiences in a historical context.

The story includes information about the villages and towns they lived in, the churches they attended, the economy, their education, the form of government they lived under, and important local and world historical events occurring during their lives.  In fact, this book becomes a family history book.
