Benedict (Ben) Endlich

Synopsis

Brothers Endlich: A Journey Through Tombstone

This book tells the life and story of  Benedict (Ben) Endlich and his two brothers Jacob and Frank.

This book walks you through their journey of life, from the Kingdom of Bavaria to their final resting place.   The book begins with their departure from the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1864.  Once in the United States, brothers Endlich spent time in New York before moving north to Worcester, Massachusetts.  After a few years in Worcester, all three brothers moved to San Francisco.  Ben, an adventurous and ambitious young man then moved to Pitkin, Colorado to work in the silver mines.  After a short time in Pitkin, Ben joined his brother Jacob in Tombstone, Territory of Arizona eager to strike it rich.  Ben and Jacob lived in Tombstone during a dangerous, ruckus, and interesting time (1879-1882), and no doubt crossed paths with several historical and infamous western figures, including Wyatt Earp and his brothers Virgil and Morgan; Sheriff Johnny Behan, Doc Holliday, the Clantons and the McLaury brothers.

During this same time, Ben's brother, Jacob, was unjustly dragged into an incident requiring him to deal with the infamous Sheriff Johnny Behan and  Dr. George Goodfellow.   After a coroner's inquest and a thorough investigation, the case remained a mystery and unresolved.

After their time in Tombstone, Ben and Jacob moved again. Although Ben eventually settled down, Jacob was restless and adventurous until his death, dividing his remaining time in Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
